Cost: Free

We are thrilled to be partnering with Project Drawdown this year to offer the Spring Drawdown EcoChallenge! Take action on the 100 most substantive solutions to global warming. For each solution, explore the history, carbon impact, ways to take action, and additional resources.

Stretch your limits, earn points, and compete for prizes…like a video call with Paul Hawken for the winning team! Take the challenge, and see how three weeks of action add up to a lifetime of change for you and the planet.

Each year, thousands of people from around the world come together to take action in the October EcoChallenge. The 2017 EcoChallenge inspired 12,214 people from 2,100 cities and 83 countries to take action. The impact created by the 2017 EcoChallenge was awesome and over 90% of participants intend to continue taking action after the Challenge too!

EVENT DESCRIPTION

Registration: Rolling all year
Cost: $10 / $5 with book

The 2nd Campus EcoChallenge takes place during the 2017-18 semester. The challenges and actions are be relevant for students living on or off campus — actions like installing solar panels are eliminated and the focus is on classroom, dorm, and campus-related actions. The imagery and messaging for the event is student-specific. The event time period is flexible, and each team has the ability to decide the length of their EcoChallenge (your campus could decide to run the EcoChallenge for 1 week, 1 month, 1 semester, etc.) The Campus EcoChallenge can be offered in conjunction with our courses books or as a stand-alone activity. Choices for Sustainable Living moves beyond the hype to explore sustainability more deeply. The eight-session course focuses less on defining sustainability than envisioning it – what would a sustainable world look like? And how can we create it together? The Choices EcoChallenge will help your group stay connected in between session meetings, connect you to others, and expand your network to everyone around the world who is participating in the course.

Choices for Sustainable Living course book has been integrated with EcoChallenge to help you discover new ways to make change more possible and powerful, both individually and together. Choices EcoChallenge will help your group stay connected in between session meetings, connect you to others, and expand your network to everyone around the world who is participating in the course.

MetLife had over 1,200 employees from 22 countries participate in a private EcoChallenge in April 2016. The results were inspiring!

EVENT DESCRIPTION

In January, Northwest Earth Institute kicked off its first-ever Campus EcoChallenge, which drew 400 participants from 30 campus teams this past semester! Throughout the semester, students and staff teamed up to make an impact, choosing new sustainable actions such as conserving water, reducing waste or curbing CO2 emissions. Similar to NWEI’s annual October EcoChallenge, participants committed to making lifestyle changes that increase sustainability and improve the environment.

EVENT DESCRIPTION

The NCW EcoChallenge is a community-wide competition organized by Climate Conversations NCW for up to 1,000 North Central Washington residents in Chelan and Douglas counties. The CCNCW mission is to increase public dialogue and awareness of climate change through education, advocacy and activism. By competing in the NCW EcoChallenge you can win individual prizes and the three highest scoring teams can win funds for the non-profit of their choice.
