What happens after you flush? A conversation with FLUSH founder, Kim Worsham.

When we think about waste, we usually picture trash cans and landfills. But one of the biggest waste streams is the one we never see: the water that goes down the drain.

In this conversation, Ecochallenge's Lauren Watkins talks with Kim Worsham, founder of FLUSH, a consultancy that uses data and storytelling to make water and sanitation easier to understand. Kim has more than 20 years of experience across 30+ countries, working with local governments, the private sector, and the World Bank.

Kim explains how a childhood spent as the family's "toilet inspector" turned into a career. She also talks about why "wastewater" is really a resource and why sanitation is a closer-to-home problem than most of us think.

The conversation includes practical and impactful tips: why "flushable" wipes should never be flushed, the easiest water-saving change in your bathroom, and ideas from around the world she'd love to see in the U.S., including a school bus turned into a public toilet with a café and a women's health center.

The conversation is part of Ecochallenge's 'Waste Less Wherever You Are' October Sprint. It's also a warm-up for World Toilet Day on November 19.
