ABOUT THE LIBERTY MUTUAL ECOCHALLENGE
Liberty’s EcoChallenge sought to inform and encourage collective action on environmental topics. With a few simple actions, employees took part and also simultaneously learned how Liberty is supporting those actions more widely (in parentheses), focusing on the following 5 areas:
- Going paperless - (Print$mart)
- Using reusable bottles and containers - (Coffee program update)
- Composting food waste - (Waste Management pilot in Boston, N.H., and Plano)
- Turning off unnecessary energy - (LED Lighting projects)
- Alternative transportation to driving alone - (Commuter benefits program)
We are at a turning point of a slightly adjusted routine and opportunity to more easily create new habits from this new routine including reducing your own carbon footprint while helping Liberty to make collective change as a company.
Liberty’s sustainability strategy is about more than doing the right thing. Continuing to advance on our ESG journey as a company is critical to employee engagement, retention, customer loyalty, and our public image. Cost savings, product innovations, and customer segment extensions can all be found through our sustainability strategy as well.
