ABOUT PEOPLE'S ECOCHALLENGE

The People's Ecochallenge is a month-long program to take action for a better shared future. From October 1 - October 31, 2025, changemakers committed to trying and doing new things. Fun actions encouraged new habits. Small steps led to big change. Together, we helped build a sustainable world and a healthy planet.

"The weekly tips are practical and motivating. The challenge is helping me become more mindful of my daily habits."

— Frank

"I love how easy it is to check in! Keeps me motivated!"

— Jay

"I noticed all the small purchases really add up over time. I have a problem with impulse buying things I think will be useful for later, and checking out targeted advertisements. I am trying to only buy the things that I need."

— Emily

"I'm enjoying going through the lists of activities and deciding which ones I could accomplish."

Megan

"I've discovered walking is not only good for my dog's mental health but mine as well. It's lovely to unplug at the end of the day and be in nature. I've also connected with several of my neighbors just by being at the local parks regularly, I love that feeling of community."

Kanee

"Today I was offered a lot of meat based products at work and decided not to indulge and stay true to my Ecochallenge which is to not eat meat based products for a certain amount of meals throughout the day. I decided to just eat cottage cheese and fruit for breakfast and than broccoli and tofu for dinner, so their offer would've made me fail the challenge. Even though everyone was eating it and I felt a little left out, it was the right thing to do!"

Kai

"I never read a lot of the mail that I know is junk, but just never get around to canceling them. I cancelled a lot of my paper mail that I could think of, but also unnecessary paper and email subscriptions."

— Kimi

"This Ecochallenge helps me think more clearly and is good for my health which reinforces other healthy habits, creating a multiplier effect."

— Joshua

"I’ve been focusing on reducing my energy use and cutting down on waste. I’m trying to take shorter showers, turn off lights when I leave a room, and recycle more carefully. It feels good to make small changes that help the planet. I’m also learning a lot about how my actions affect the environment."

— Soren

"Each day I've been learning how small actions can make a big impact, from reducing waste to making healthier, eco-friendly choices. This challenge has helped me step outside my comfort zone, stay mindful about sustainability, and inspire other to do the same. "

— Mavala

"I noticed that I have found myself enjoying doing my five minutes of sitting in my silence right when I wake up in the morning. No talking, no phone. Just me and my thoughts!"

— Talliyah
