ABOUT PEOPLE'S ECOCHALLENGE

The People's Ecochallenge is a month-long program to take action for a better shared future. Every October you commit to trying and doing new things. Fun actions encourage new habits. Small steps lead to big change. Together, we build a sustainable world and a healthy planet.

The People's Ecochallenge is free to join and everyone is welcome. Join an existing team, create a new one, or join the global Community team. Join us! We're excited you're here.

"The challenge is a great reminder of ways we can help our community, city and environment. Small changes have great impact. It always offers innovative ideas and suggestions, that we may not have known."

— Yvette

"This challenge has gotten me thinking more about my health and have begun walking almost every day now for the past 3 weeks. I feel so much better."

— Cynthia

"My attitude is really different since I started working these Ecochallenges. I thought I was fairly enlightened before, but I've learned so much that my lifestyle is greatly different. I know that my values have changed for the better."

— Mary

"I’ve focused on making sustainable swaps in my daily routine, like using less energy and cutting down on waste. It’s been challenging at times, but the small changes are starting to feel natural. Plus, seeing everyone else’s progress keeps me motivated to stay on track."

— Hassnain

"I have enjoyed completing my daily actions and being able to make a contribution to the team. I look forward to continuing my daily actions all year, regardless of the challenge, and am always looking for ways to improve my life and the lives of others."

— Ashley

"Sharing my why: It has felt so intensely busy the last few weeks I almost didn't do this challenge. Then I remembered how much I learn each and every time I've done one. Once realizing this it was an easy decision to sign up and do this People's Ecochallenge. Have loved looking at the feed and challenging myself to keep going when I might rather slide."

— Jeanne

"This helps me remember how it's the little things that help. Sometimes I think saving a disposable cup doesn't mean much. Then I look at how many I save over time. Then how many as a team we've saved and so on. It's 'just one thing' but it matters!"

— Tim

"I participate in ecochallenge to learn more about myself and the environment. I find that this challenge helps to create new, sustainable, habits within a supportive community."

— Sarah

"I really do enjoy these challenges and it makes me very happy to see so many people participating. Sometimes it can feel like all I can do is preach to the choir while the visibility of what changes we are making is hard to see. But the more you involve yourself the more you can actually see the differences and changes that we are making. How much effort people around you are putting in. It lets you know that we can do this, and honestly, we will – because there really isn't any other choice."
